Mandela Day -2022

In celebration of International Nelson Mandela Day, today, 18 July 2022, the Pan South African Language Board (PanSALB) would like to call on all South African to heed a significant call to action for people to recognize individual power to make an imprint and change the world around them.

This is a global movement for positive change which begins with small action as each person acts and fuel momentum towards positive change, also in raising awareness and expanding the reach of the former president’s values in fighting injustice, helping people in need and practicing reconciliation.

The commemoration aims to pay homage to the noble work and selfless sacrifice under his astute tutelage and advise.

This special day was in 2009 declared by the United Nations General Assembly to recognize Nelson Mandela’s values and the contribution made to the culture of peace, freedom, and service of humanity.

Under the theme “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are” this year’s celebration pays more attention to acting and fueling momentum towards positive change, also raising awareness and expanding the reach of Mr Mandela’s values to fight injustice, helping people in need and practicing reconciliation.

PanSALB continues to encourage the fight on poverty, the promotion of peace, stability and hope within people.

Happy International Nelson Mandela Day.
