PanSALB TO CONDUCT NAMA SPELLING AND ORTHOGRAPHY RULES WORKSHOP IN GAUTENG
The Pan South African Language Board Gauteng provincial office will from 28 – 29 September 2021, conduct Nama spelling and orthography rules at Birchwood Hotel, East Rand, in Johannesburg.
This workshop is part of Heritage celebration to restore the integrity of Nama language and to remind their communities about the importance of their language in the country. The workshop aims to redress transformation within their communities to ensure that their reading and writing development are prioritized within the national framework of official languages in the country.
PanSALB senior provincial managers, both Gauteng and Northern Cape, Dr Sally Maepa and Mr Boichoko Moremi will lead this programme to ensure that the problems facing Nama communities are redressed accordingly.
Under the theme “Celebrating South Africa’s intangible cultural heritage”. PanSALB wish to encourage and bring back the Nama heritage and its incredibility of their language as a fundamental human right.
